Incentive trip for the financial sector
Brief
A large UK financial institution requested that we source a themed overseas incentive for 30 top performing sales staff plus partners. The objective was to reward a high achieving and motivated group of sales people and to incentivise them for the coming year.
Solution
We were instrumental in choosing 'Prohibition' as the theme and Chicago was the ideal location for an incentive with this theme. A detailed itinerary was put together to include all meals, sightseeing visits and something a little out of the ordinary...
Guests travelled from two UK airports for a 4 day trip staying at the world famous 1920's inspired Drake Hotel which was ideally located with fantastic views on the 'Magnificent Mile' close to Oak Street Beach and Lake Shore Drive.
Drawing on the 'prohibition' theme, guests dined at authentic gangster frequented pizza houses, took a tour around the district famous for the St Valentines Day massacre finishing with Dinner at a 'Speakeasy' and took part in a treasure hunt around the sights of the city.
Benefits
The group stayed together for the majority of the trip as it was heavily scheduled to encourage teambuilding. We achieved the allocated budget of £1,000 per person.
Emergency accommodation programme
Brief
An international house building company were looking for an efficient and cost effective solution for booking emergency accommodation for customers who experience snagging issues with their new homes shortly after moving in.
They required a 24/7 service where previously accommodation had been booked by staff who were inexperienced in this field; no budgets were in place and customers were free to charge all items to the main account.
Solution
A bespoke booking procedure was established which involves ESL providing 24/7 cover over 365 days. Once authorised ESL sensitively handles the customer and their family, listening to their personal family needs eg. location of schools, place of work etc. Accommodation is booked and confirmed and billed back to ESL.
Benefits
The proactive service we offer provides excellent customer service to our clients' customers. We will work within our clients purchasing guidelines to control and track expenditure which has halved their costs in this sector over the past two years.
Residential Conference and dinner
Brief
An event with the 'wow' factor was the brief given to us by a luxury car manufacturer who were looking to hold a short motivational conference followed by an evening of entertainment for 500 guests with overnight accommodation.
Solution
Taking exclusive use of the Celtic Manor Resort near Newport, delegates attended an afternoon conference session with motivational speaker whilst their partners were offered a pamper session in the hotel Spa or could join a trip into nearby Cardiff whilst gifts were placed in each of their rooms.
Late afternoon, a children's party was arranged complete with clowns, magicians, bouncy castle and party food. The children were looked after by a troop of baby sitters when their parents attended the evening event. A lavish five course dinner was followed by an Abba Tribute Band and a Radio One DJ playing until the early hours.
The role ESL took was to completely manage and control the event;
- we initially sourced the venue and liaised with the hotel management
- managed the rooming list and individual guest requirements
- co-ordinated the entertainment and allocations for activities
- facilitated room drops
- organised menu planning and arranged a tasting
- afterwards prepared an expenditure list including event management charges
Benefits
After the initial briefing and budgeting criteria were agreed 9 months prior; our client was happy for us to make decisions on their behalf and attend monthly planning meetings. The feedback received from their guests was 'the best yet'.
New company launch
Brief
We were asked to put together a 24 date UK launch tour to promote the creation of a brand new company in the finance sector. They were looking to move away from the traditional presentation in a conference room and wanted a cost effective and interesting way of providing something different.
Solution
Working in consultation with the client, the solution was to offer a specially customised coach (as seen in the Churchill advert!) complete with 'wrap' which would act as transportation for key team members as well as an exhibition facility and sleeping accommodation.
Working with the various speakers, we created a schedule for maximum coverage of the country and delegates registered online to attend the seminars. At each location, a meeting room was required for refreshments and the presentation and more importantly; conspicuous parking for the coach.
Benefit
A highly visual Company launch was achieved and successfully communicated to over 5,000 delegates.
Residential training courses
Brief
One hundred delegates based in 8 locations throughout the UK were to attend three, two day residential training courses. Budgets were tight, but delegate expectation was high, as they were the ambitious high flyers of the future.
Solution
Exceptional rates were negotiated at strategically placed residential training centres throughout the country. A number of value added extras were built into the package eg:
- upgraded bedrooms
- fresh cream cakes with afternoon tea
- extra equipment
- larger training rooms
- an additional syndicate free of charge
- free room hire for private dining in the evening.
Easily accessible, but quiet, locations were carefully chosen that did not provide any local distractions for the delegates.
Benefit
This was a highly successful training programme which delivered the objectives of all involved.
